It’s not “The Real World,” but it is real PR—in action.
@erwwpr is proud to kick off plans for One Young House, a one-of-a-kind internship experience based in Pittsburgh, where our @erwwpr office is busy preparing for the arrival of the third annual One Young World (OYW) summit, coming to here this October.
After working passionately to help the city prepare its winning bid to host the 2012 summit, our Pittsburgh office is looking forward to a summer of planning and promotion to make this the best summit yet. To support the pro bono effort, we decided to offer four unique paid summer internship positions to support the agency, with a special focus on OYW.
To give interns a fully immersive experience, @erwwpr partnered with OYW supporter Point Park University to provide all four interns housing in downtown Pittsburgh just a few blocks from @erwwpr’s office. The interns will be asked to document their experience learning (and living) together as a team, operating out of One Young House.
This innovative twist on @erwwpr’s traditional internship program will put the quartet in an ideal position (and physical location) to engage and educate the Pittsburgh community about OYW. Through the program, they will gain extensive experience with traditional and social media relations, grassroots events and community presentations.
Interns who meet or exceed program goals will be evaluated for possible media credentials for exclusive access to cover the One Young World summit this fall.
Stay tuned for updates on the efforts of these young professionals as they share their experience at One Young House and what they’ve accomplished throughout their real-world internship. They will be blogging about the experience on erwwpr.com, posting updates on the One Young World Pittsburgh Partnership Facebook page and tweeting updates from the @OYWPittsburgh Twitter handle using the hashtag #OYWHouse.
